I was born in a suburb of Montreal, Quebec, Canada in the City of Verdun in July of 55.
I joined the Canadian Armed Forces one month after my 18th Birthday, and I served Canada for 22yrs, retiring in 1994 with the rank of PO2 (Sgt).
I retired in Edmonton, because my sister had moved here when I was still very young, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me to finally get to know my sister (Rest in Peace Harriet). Cancer took her.
I served in: Cornwallis, Kingston (E Coy), Inuvik, Gander, Bermuda, back to Inuvik, Ottawa (Russian Language Course), Ottawa (Leitrim) back to Gander, Masset and I signed my final papers here in Edmonton.
I did 5 tours of CFS Alert (the worlds most Northerly, permanently inhabited place). I also served on HMCS Huron (on both coasts) and HMCS Athabaskan during Desert Storm.
Even though I do not think our troops should be in Afghanistan, they are, and they have my fullest support. Thank you to all the Men and Women currently serving in our Forces, you make us all proud.
